God hates unhealthy lifestyle


Most of the disease that afflict us, are usually direct implication of our lifestyle.


1. Smoking: Diabetes, Stroke, Asthma, Hypertension, Heart diseases, and Cancer

2. Alcoholism: Peptic ulcer, Heart diseases, Cancer, Accident, Liver and brain damage,

3. Untidy environment and poor personal hygiene: Food poisoning, Hepatitis A, Lassa Fever, Malaria, Toxoplasmosis and many other Microbial infection

4. Sedentary lifestyle: when you often sitting or lying down while carrying activities such as – reading, playing video games, watching television, using a mobile phone or computer throughout your day. Sedentary lifestyle has also been associated with disease such as stroke and arthritis

5. Unhealthy diet: can also result to disorder such as obesity.

All this disease can be prevented by changing our lifestyle.


  • 1 Corinthians 6:19-20: “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”

    For instance, how can the Holy spirit dwell in a person that is drunk? When we take good care of our body, it shows that we honour God and thankful for giving life to us

  • Act 27:34: “Now I urge you to take some food. You need it to survive. Not one of you will lose a single hair from his head.”To survive or stay healthy, you need to eat. But what you eat can affect your health. It is important you adhere to balanced diet. Consume more fresh food, unprocessed food, and less red meat. Nutritional diet keeps you healthy by boosting your immunity and making you stronger in order to fast and pray, evangelise and even serve in the house of God.Unhealthy eating habits such as over-eating or not eating enough can result to eating disorder, therefore, you should eat modestly.

  • Sedentary lifestyle: Spending hours surfing the internet and social networks are a major problem for young and even older people. Making you less physically active. Be caution of the amount of time you spend surfing and socialising on the internet, reduce the time from today and start paying more attention to more physical activities.

  • The importance of exercise can not be over-emphasized, Physical activities improves your immunity and reduce your risk of developing, Diabetes, Heart disease and cancer.

    Take more time out, take walks, ride bicycles, play football, hit the gym, go for swimming, just get involve in more physical activities.

  • Ecclesiastes 9:8: “Always be clothed in white, and always anoint your head with oil.

    Exodus 19:10-11: “And the Lord said to Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow. Have them wash their clothes and be ready by the third day, because on that day the Lord will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.”

    I believe without advice, it is common sense to keep a clean environment, take baths, put on clean cloths, wash hands immediately after using conveniences and  when you touch dirty surfaces. These will prevent many microbial infection and keep you healthy.

    Key point: Our body is the temple of God, and it is our responsibility to take care of it. God bless you as you make the choice to lead a healthy lifestyle.
